Another 3,51,192 farmers have been brought under the state government’s Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana 2026. The cooperation department published this third list on Monday, 12 October. A name on the list does not wipe the loan out at once. Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil has said the farmer must first complete Aadhaar authentication, and only then is the waiver amount put into the loan account.

Marathwada accounts for the biggest share. The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division alone has 2,06,450 farmers on the list, roughly 59 per cent of the total. District figures published by the daily Pudhari put Nanded (51,725), Beed (47,827) and Parbhani (29,594) at the top. Agrowon also gives Nanded’s count as 51,725, though its report rounds Beed’s figure to about 45,000.

The third list, division by division

  • Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division: 2,06,450
  • Amravati division: 85,076
  • Nagpur division: 30,738
  • Nashik division: 14,244
  • Pune division: 11,928
  • Konkan division: 2,756

How to check whether your name is on the list

  • Step 1: Look at the district-wise list put up at the bank branch that holds your crop loan, at the village vikas society, or at the gram panchayat office. The cooperation department says the lists have been displayed at these three places.
  • Step 2: In Wardha, the district administration has also put the lists up at tehsil offices and assistant registrar offices, is giving copies to talathis, and has sent text messages to eligible farmers’ mobile phones. Ask at your tehsil office or bank whether your district does the same.
  • Step 3: If you find your name, note down the unique number printed against it. You will need it for authentication.
  • Step 4: The dues shown on the list are as of 31 March 2026. Check them against your passbook or loan statement first.
  • Step 5: Take your Aadhaar card to the nearest Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra. The Wardha administration also asks farmers to carry their AgriStack farmer ID, and says a CSC centre or the bank branch can do the authentication too.
  • Step 6: At the centre, once the unique number is entered, you can record whether you accept the Aadhaar details, the bank account and the loan amount. If the amount looks wrong, mark it as not accepted.
  • Step 7: The waiver reaches the loan account only after authentication. The government has not yet announced a date for payments to farmers on the third list.

If your name is missing or something goes wrong

  • The lists are coming out one after another. Banks have sent the scheme portal the records of 31.17 lakh loan accounts in arrears, while the three lists so far carry 24.67 lakh names. The Nanded district administration has said more lists will follow in stages and that farmers who are not yet named should not panic.
  • If in doubt, ask your bank first. After that, a written complaint can go to the taluka grievance committee chaired by the tehsildar, or to the office of the taluka assistant registrar of cooperative societies.
  • Nanded district has a separate grievance cell in the district deputy registrar’s office, reachable on 9284350731.
  • For farmers who have died, elderly farmers and those whose fingerprints do not register on the machine, the cooperation department issued a separate standard operating procedure on 19 August 2026. According to the Wardha administration, relatives of a deceased farmer should mark the Aadhaar details as not accepted at the centre, then give the bank a death certificate and get the heir registered.

Which loans qualify

  • Crop loans taken between 1 April 2019 and 31 March 2025, including loans restructured or re-restructured in that period.
  • The loan must have been overdue on 30 September 2025 and still unpaid on 31 March 2026.
  • The waiver goes up to ₹2 lakh. It is worked out on the dues as of 31 March 2026, and interest and other charges added from 1 April 2026 will also be written off.
  • The benefit is given to each eligible farmer as an individual rather than per family, with no distinction by size of landholding.
  • The cooperation minister has said that some farmers in the nationalised and commercial bank lists owe more than ₹2 lakh, but their loans will be cleared in full under the government’s ‘haircut’ policy.
  • In other cases, borrowers owing more than ₹2 lakh have a one-time settlement (OTS) option: pay the portion above ₹2 lakh before 31 March 2027 and receive up to ₹2 lakh of relief, according to the Nanded district administration.
  • Farmers who repaid on time can get an incentive of up to ₹50,000. Farmers whose loans are waived remain eligible for fresh crop loans.

The scheme in numbers so far

  • First list (24 July 2026): 16.96 lakh farmers
  • Second list (11 September 2026): 4.20 lakh farmers, according to the government’s 12 October statement. The statement issued on 11 September, when that list came out, gave the figure as 3,55,614.
  • Third list (12 October 2026): 3.51 lakh farmers; 24.67 lakh across all three lists
  • Money actually paid: by 1 October, ₹13,275 crore had gone into the loan accounts of 15,85,493 farmers in three instalments. The third instalment, ₹3,160.43 crore for 3,27,250 farmers, was released by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
  • These instalments are rounds of payment, not the numbered lists. The government statement does not say how much the third list will cost.

What happens next

Farmers on the third list will be paid as their authentication is completed. Nanded shows how this plays out: 1,97,912 farmers in the district were found eligible across the three lists, 1,41,835 of them completed authentication, and by 21 October ₹861.56 crore had been credited to the accounts of 1,02,218 farmers. The sooner the authentication is done, the sooner the waiver shows up in the account. Further lists will be published in stages.
