Grievance redressal
If you have a grievance about a story, article, photograph or video on the My Maha Rashtra website, file it with the form on this page. This mechanism follows Part III of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
Whom to write to
Our grievance officer is Aditya Jadhav (Technical Editor), based in Nashik, India. Email: editor@mymaharashtra.in. The office address is given below.
What this mechanism is for
It is for grievances that our content breaches our code of ethics. To point out a simple factual mistake, the corrections policy is quicker; for subscriptions, advertising and anything else, use the contact page.
You may also write to us about the printed paper.
How to file a grievance
- Fill in the form at the end of this page, or email the grievance officer.
- Include your name and contact details; a link to the story concerned; the exact part of the content you object to; and which principle of the code of ethics you believe it breaches.
- You may write in Marathi or English.
Time limits
- We acknowledge your grievance within 24 hours of receiving it. If you use the form, you see a grievance number at once; please quote it whenever you write to us about it.
- The grievance officer decides within 15 days of the grievance being registered, and tells you the decision.
- If the grievance is upheld, we correct the content, publish a clarification or your reply, apologise, or remove the content where that is needed.
If you disagree: three levels
The Rules set out three levels of grievance redressal:
- Level I, the publisher: My Maha Rashtra, through our grievance officer.
- Level II, a self-regulating body of publishers: if you are not satisfied with our decision, you may appeal within 15 days of receiving it to the self-regulating body of which the publisher is a member. If we have not told you our decision within 15 days, the grievance goes to this level directly. The body conveys its decision within 15 days. Its name and contact details will be given on this page once our membership is confirmed.
- Level III, the oversight mechanism of the Central Government: if you are not satisfied with the self-regulating body’s decision, you may appeal within 15 days of that decision to the oversight mechanism of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Records and monthly report
We keep a record of every grievance, the decision on it, the reply sent to the complainant and the action taken. As the Rules require, we will publish a report every month of the grievances received and the action taken on them.
