Tiroda: To make sure farmers in Wadegaon and Bhajepar get water for their fields and timely irrigation for their crops, Tiroda-Goregaon MLA Vijay Rahangdale inspected the RCB canal in both villages, Berar Times reported. He directed irrigation department officials to take urgent steps to get canal water to the farms.
He stressed that water should reach farmers in the command area smoothly and be planned according to crop needs, and told officials to resolve distribution problems with local conditions in mind and to work in coordination.
Dhapewada lift irrigation project executive engineer Shrikant Maskawar, zilla parishad member Tumeshwari Baghele, panchayat samiti chairman Tejram Chavan and sarpanch Shamrao Bisen were present along with farmers from the command area. Lack of water at a key stage of crop growth can hurt yields, so farmers are watching what the department does next, the report said.
