Jalgaon: MIDC police have returned gold and silver jewellery and cash worth ₹32,18,800, recovered in a burglary case, to the original complainant, after completing the legal formalities following a court order.
Burglars had broken the latch of a locked house in the Mahajan Nagar-Rameshwar Colony area within MIDC police station limits and made off with jewellery and cash. The station's crime detection team caught the suspects within days and recovered everything that had been stolen.
The complainant had applied to the Jalgaon court for the return of the property, and the court ordered it returned on October 8, 2026. A formal record was then drawn up at the police station in the presence of witnesses and the property was handed over.
Superintendent of police Shrikant Dhiware had told all police stations in the district to return seized property to its owners promptly once court orders are received. The handover was carried out under senior police inspector Baban Awhad.
