Nanded: To ensure fodder for livestock amid drought-like conditions in the district, grass planted at Chondi, in the Malakoli forest beat of Loha taluka, under the forest department's pasture development scheme was recently inspected jointly.
The inspection reviewed the state of the planting, the growth of the grass and the fodder it could yield. With a fodder shortage likely in the coming months, the conservation of pastures, proper management of grass planting and effective use of available fodder sources were discussed. The main aim was to increase fodder for livestock and plan fodder management for the months ahead.
Deputy commissioner of animal husbandry and dairying Dr Sakharam Khune, assistant commissioner Dr Pravinkumar Ghule and Malakoli forest guard Tulshiram Musande were present.
