Solapur: MLA Narayan (Aba) Patil has opposed four large projects proposed on and around the Ujani reservoir. He has filed objections to a floating solar power project, an AI data centre and campus, a green hydrogen project and a small modular (nuclear) reactor, his group's spokesperson Sunil Talekar said on Sunday.

A meeting on the projects was held last week, but Patil, the sitting MLA, was not invited, his group alleges. No email or phone call about the meeting came from the department concerned, Talekar said.

The group says Patil filed his objection as soon as he learned of the projects. A memorandum opposing them has been sent to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and water resources minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil.

Attention now turns to how the state government and the departments concerned respond to the objection.
