Bhandara: Office-bearers of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), led by district chief Sanjay Rehpade, went to the Andhalgaon police station demanding a case against district guardian minister Pankaj Bhoyar after a farmer from Dhop in Mohadi taluka died by suicide, Pudhari reported.

The party claims the farmer was troubled by problems with a canal near his field and had repeatedly appealed to the guardian minister. Had his difficulties been taken seriously and officials directed in time, the death could have been avoided, the office-bearers said, alleging that the minister's insensitive and irresponsible conduct was to blame.

They alleged that police inspector Nitin Rathod expressed his inability to register the complaint. When no action followed despite a long discussion, they raised slogans at the police station gate in protest, and later visited the farmer's family to offer condolences. The response of the guardian minister or the police to the allegations was not part of the report.
