Parola: A bride who had been brought from another state through a broker, after the groom's family paid ₹2.5 lakh to arrange the marriage, is accused of poisoning her in-laws' food on the third day. Parola police caught her and a female accomplice within hours in Dhule district after the incident at Velhane in Parola taluka.

According to police, a 32-year-old man from the village married on October 7. On the night of October 9, the two women allegedly mixed rat poison into the family's food and, once the family members had passed out, fled with cash from the house on the morning of October 10. The groom's parents, who were poisoned, were admitted to the Government Medical College hospital in Jalgaon.

After the village police patil alerted the police, a team including head constable Sunil Hatkar tracked the women and detained them about 3 km from Nimgul village in Dhule district.

A case has been registered at Parola police station on a complaint by a family member and both women have been arrested. Police said they are searching for the broker who is believed to run the inter-state racket.
