Ratnagiri: The Ratnagiri Zilla Parishad's health committee has decided to install CCTV cameras at primary health centres for security. Some of the district's 60 centres will get cameras first as a pilot, and the rest will follow in phases, said Zilla Parishad vice-president and health committee chairman Vilas Chalke.
With swine flu cases rising fast in cities such as Mumbai and Pune, the meeting called for immediate awareness drives at taluka headquarters to keep the disease from spreading in the district. A deworming drive has been ordered across the district on October 27.
Snakebites rise during the paddy harvest, which will begin soon, so primary health centres should keep ample stocks of anti-snake venom and ensure patients face no difficulty, Chalke said.
