Gondia: Alleging that students of the government nursing college here have been served notices to vacate their hostel, the All India Students' Federation (AISF) warned the administration on October 9. Instead of fixing the hostel's facilities, the administration is trying to push students out, causing resentment among them, the federation said, according to Berar Times.

Students have complained of a lack of adequate classrooms, toilets, modern laboratories, a well-equipped library, regular practical classes and qualified, experienced teachers. The library has no reference books, newspapers or magazines, and women students lack sanitary napkins, a common room and a mess, the federation said.

The federation has submitted a memorandum of demands, including immediate withdrawal of the notices and proper facilities in the existing hostel, to the dean of the government medical college and the principal of the nursing college, and given them five days to act. The college administration's response was not part of the report.
