Ahilyanagar: Surveys (panchnamas) of crops scorched in the 2026 kharif season are moving quickly in all 14 talukas of the district, where drought trigger 1 has been applied. According to the official status report as of October 9, the work has reached all 1,610 villages and about 72.88 per cent of it is complete.

Kharif crops were sown on 11,11,206 hectares in the district, and 10,23,901 farmer account holders are registered. Between September 27 and October 9, surveys were completed for 7,46,240 account holders. In each village they are carried out by a committee made up of an agriculture assistant and the talathi, the village revenue official.

Sangamner taluka leads, with 86.60 per cent of account holders (85,325 hectares) covered, followed by Parner at 85.78 per cent and Nagar taluka at 82.75 per cent. By area, Rahata (87.40 per cent), Nagar (87.01 per cent) and Rahuri (86.37 per cent) are ahead. Every village in Akole has been reached, but surveys there cover 68.23 per cent of the area.

Work is under way in Karjat (75.14 per cent), Shrigonda (72.50), Shrirampur (70.73), Nevasa (68.84), Kopargaon (65.83) and Pathardi (64.65), while Shevgaon (57.51) and Jamkhed (54.54) are furthest behind. The district administration has ordered the remaining surveys finished and reported quickly so that affected farmers receive government aid and insurance payouts on time. Their compensation will depend on these surveys.
