Solapur: The Siddheshwar Bank Sevak Sanskrutik Mandal's 'Sharadotsav 2026' will be held from October 12 to 16 at Hutatma Smruti Mandir in Park Chowk. The festival of lectures and cultural events promises Solapur audiences music, poetry, conversation, humour, history and reflections on Maharashtra's social and cultural life.

Over five days, five personalities from different fields will meet audiences: historian Pandurang Balkawade, poet Vaibhav Joshi, Prof Dr Deepak Pawar, Prof Deepak Deshpande, and singer and music scholar Dr Mrudula Dadhe.

The festival opens on Monday, October 12, with Dr Dadhe's programme 'Suranchya Paulkhuna', a journey through Hindi film music that looks at composers' styles, lyricists' craft, the stories behind songs and how film music has changed over time. Nilesh Nirgudkar will also take part.

The lecture series was started by the late V.G. Shivdare, founder of Siddheshwar Bank, and continued under the guidance of Rajshekhar Shivdare. Over four decades, many writers and thinkers from across the country have addressed Solapur audiences from its platform.
