Sonpeth: A large number of people travel from the town to the railway stations at Parbhani, Parli and Beed, relying on trains to reach Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad and other cities. To spare them inconvenience, commuters have demanded bus services that match the train timetables.

Bus services from Sonpeth to Beed and Parbhani were started recently, and political office-bearers vied for credit for them, but passengers say what matters more is scheduling the buses to suit travellers. They want the Sonpeth–Parbhani bus to be timed to the Devgiri and Nandigram Express trains to Mumbai from Parbhani station, and the Sonpeth–Parli bus to trains to and from Hyderabad at Parli station.

They have also asked for a Sonpeth–Beed bus timed to trains to and from Pune at Beed's newly opened railway station, and a separate service via Nanded–Purna that leaves in the morning and returns at night. Such a timetable would help students, office-goers, traders, patients and ordinary passengers, they say.
