Anadur: Two brothers who had gone to a percolation tank at Nilegaon in Tuljapur taluka to water their cattle drowned on Saturday morning, October 10. The boys, aged 12 and 11, studied in classes 6 and 5.

When the boys did not return home for a long time, their father went to the tank to look for them. Finding their clothes and slippers on the bank, he feared the worst. A search was carried out, and the two were pulled out of the water and rushed to hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

The deaths of two children from the same family have plunged Nilegaon and the surrounding area into grief. The boys are survived by their parents and a sister, and villagers are mourning two lives lost so young.
