If you haven't yet applied for the MHADA Pune Board lottery of 4,462 homes, you have another week. The Pune Housing and Area Development Board has moved the last date for online applications from October 22 to October 30, 2026. It is the board's third extension since applications opened on August 24. The original deadline of September 15 had already been pushed to October 15 and then to October 22.

A note on the time. The board's press note says applications close at 11:59 pm on October 30. But the latest notice on the application portal, housing.mhada.gov.in, gives 5 pm on October 30 as the cut-off for submitting applications, and the portal's schedule shows the same. The information booklet says the server's clock decides when applications open and close. The safe course is to finish your application before the afternoon of October 30.

The new dates

  • Last date to submit the online application: Friday, October 30, 2026 (5 pm according to the portal)
  • Last time to pay the deposit online: October 30, 11:59 pm
  • Last date to pay the deposit by RTGS/NEFT: Monday, November 2 (the portal shows 3:59 pm)
  • Draft list of accepted applications: Friday, November 20
  • Final list: Monday, November 30
  • Lottery draw: Friday, December 4, 2026
  • Deposit refunds for applicants who don't win: from December 10

Apart from the application deadline, these dates come from the schedule for this lottery (PB-26-Aug) on the application portal. The original advertisement had scheduled the draw for October 13; it has moved with each extension, and the portal now shows December 4. The board can change the dates, so keep checking the portal.

Why the deadline moved again

Applicants upload their domicile certificate and income certificate on the IHLMS 2.0 system. MahaIT verifies these documents online and the Income Tax Department checks income tax returns. Verification was already slow when MahaIT announced that its websites, portal and app would be shut until October 20 for a system upgrade. According to the board's press note, 4,925 domicile certificates and 8,513 income certificates were still awaiting verification. Pune Board chief officer Rahul Sakore said the extension was given after applicants asked for more time.

Demand is high. The press note says 2,11,414 people have registered so far and 1,41,417 have paid the deposit.

Which homes, where, and at what price

  • Total homes: 4,462, of which 1,491 are under the 15% social housing scheme and 2,971 under the 20% inclusive housing scheme.
  • The 15% scheme homes are in projects at Manjari Khurd, Mhalunge, Bhugaon and Jambhe.
  • The 20% scheme homes are within Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal limits, in areas including Hadapsar, Dhanori, Lohegaon, Balewadi, Bavdhan, Warje, Katraj, Moshi, Chikhali, Punawale, Tathawade, Wakad, Ravet and Akurdi.
  • Income groups: 778 homes for the economically weaker section (EWS) and 3,684 for the lower income group (LIG). Units are 1RK, 1BHK, 1.5BHK and 2BHK.
  • Prices: about Rs 11.55 lakh to Rs 46.44 lakh, according to the scheme list on the portal. The exact price and area of each project are listed there.

Eligibility and deposit

  • Annual family income (applicant and spouse combined): up to Rs 6 lakh for EWS and up to Rs 9 lakh for LIG.
  • A notice on the portal says income from either financial year 2024-25 or 2025-26 will be accepted.
  • Deposit: Rs 15,000 for EWS and Rs 20,000 for LIG.
  • There is also a non-refundable application fee of Rs 708 (Rs 600 plus Rs 108 GST).

How to apply

  • Apply only on MHADA's website, housing.mhada.gov.in, or through the official 'MHADA Housing Lottery System' mobile app. Lottery details are also on mhada.gov.in.
  • If you have already registered, log in and check whether your domicile certificate, income certificate and other documents have been verified.
  • Read the terms in the advertisement and the information booklet before choosing a scheme.
  • If you pay the deposit online, do it by the night of October 30. If you pay by RTGS/NEFT, make sure the money reaches MHADA's account by November 2.
  • For help, call the MHADA lottery helpline on 022-69468100. The advertisement also lists 7030900265 and 18008918297 for deposit payments. There is a lottery help centre at the Pune Board office in Agarkar Nagar, Pune.

Beware of agents

MHADA has not appointed anyone as an agent, the board says in a notice on the application portal. Don't pay anyone who asks for money in MHADA's name with a promise of getting you a home. The draw is computerised, and the application, fee and deposit go only through the official portal or app. If you get a suspicious call or message, check with MHADA's helpline directly.
