Bhandara: A woman travelling alone in coach B-5 of the Jnaneswari Express (train no. 12101) went into labour during the journey on October 11. As soon as they were informed, Railway Protection Force sub-inspector S S Dhoke at Tumsar Road and his colleagues swung into action.

With the help of station staff, she was taken off the train at Tumsar Road station and admitted to the sub-district hospital in Tumsar, where she delivered a baby girl safely at 11.45 am under doctors' care. Both mother and baby are said to be doing well.

The promptness shown by railway security and station staff on the first day of Navratri is being praised, Tarun Bharat reported.
