Bhandara: A speeding car rammed a motorcycle from behind near the zilla parishad school on the old national highway at Bela at about 9.30 pm on Friday, October 9. A youth from Neri was killed and the friend riding with him was injured, Pudhari reported.

The youth was riding with his friend towards a petrol pump at Jawaharnagar on some work when a car heading towards Nagpur hit the motorcycle. The death has left Neri village in mourning.

Residents say a pothole on the old highway at Bela caused the accident. Four-laning of the road has been crawling along for about a year, and the potholes and ongoing works are making life difficult for motorists.
