Satara: The United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) carried out an unannounced inspection of Mumbai-based drugmaker Rubicon Research Ltd's manufacturing facility in Satara from October 5 to October 9, 2026, and issued one observation in Form 483, the company said on Friday, October 9.

The observation is procedural and does not relate to data integrity, the company said, and that it expects to work closely with the US FDA so that the review is wrapped up promptly.

A successful outcome would make this the first successful unannounced US FDA inspection of the Satara site. The facility's previous inspection, in January 2023, was carried out with prior notice to the company.

Earlier in the 2026-27 financial year, the US FDA made unannounced inspections of the company's research and development centre in Toronto, Canada, in April and its Pithampur plant in Madhya Pradesh in July. If the Satara inspection is cleared, it will be the third successful one this year, the company said.
