Gadchiroli: Even as digital learning and modern school facilities are being talked about, children at the zilla parishad school in Dawandi, in Korchi taluka, are studying under a tree, Navarashtra reported. The PM SHRI zilla parishad primary school in the Belgaon cluster has 31 pupils in Classes 1 to 5 but only two classrooms and two teachers.

With just two rooms for five classes, several classes have to be taught together and two are held under a tree. Teachers struggle to manage, and the arrangement raises concerns about both the quality of education and the children's safety.

Letters have been sent to the gram panchayat, the panchayat samiti and senior officials asking for more classrooms, but no concrete action has been taken so far, said headmistress Reshma Kangale. Dawandi is only about 5 km from Korchi town.

Residents want the administration to act quickly so that children in this remote, Naxal-affected area get proper facilities. If the classrooms are not built, parents could lose faith in government schools and enrolment could fall, and there are demands that additional classrooms be sanctioned without delay.
