Sangamner: Police inspector Kailas Mhatuji Nagare, a native of Shedgaon in Sangamner taluka, has been awarded the President's medal for outstanding and notable service in the police. Governor Jishnu Dev Varma presented the medal to him at a police investiture ceremony at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai on Friday, October 9, at which 103 police officers and personnel from across the state received medals announced on Independence Day and Republic Day between 2022 and 2024.

Nagare has served in the force with dedication, discipline and integrity. Through a number of new initiatives he helped give direction to the work of police administration while keeping up his commitment to the public. The honour recognises that sustained work.

The President's medal for police service is regarded as one of the force's most respected honours, and many see it as a tribute to Nagare's long career.

Villagers in Shedgaon, his family and friends have welcomed the news, and congratulations have been pouring in from all quarters.
