Virar: With large crowds expected over the nine days of Navratri, the administration of Virar's well-known Jivdani Devi temple has made special security arrangements. More than 200 CCTV cameras now watch over the premises, from the ground floor up to the sanctum.
Over 100 police officers and personnel will be deployed inside the temple premises every day of the festival. The temple administration and the police are jointly managing the crowds so that devotees can have darshan safely and smoothly and no untoward incident occurs at peak hours.
From the first day of Navratri to the ninth, the sanctum will be decorated with flowers, and the goddess will be adorned differently each day in a saree of that day's traditional colour.
