Nagpur: Water supply will be shut from 6 am on October 13 to 6 am on October 14 to repair a leak in the 1,400 mm pipeline of the Pench-4 feeder near Mankapur Square. According to an NMC-OCW announcement, 323 localities in 18 command areas will be affected, The Times of India reported.

The affected areas include Jaripatka, Dhantoli, Manewada, Sakkardara, Hudkeshwar, Narendra Nagar, Omkar Nagar, Jogi Nagar, Nara, Nari and Nalanda Nagar, along with nearby layouts and colonies. Supply to the Chandrabhaga, Sambhaji Nagar, Bharat Mata and Tajeshwar Nagar reservoirs at the Hudkeshwar-Narsala tapping points will also be hit.

Repair work that began on October 6 missed its October 7 deadline, leaving several areas without water for more than 60 hours, and complaints of low pressure and dirty water followed once supply resumed. The repairs were being carried out by the World Bank division of the state public works department. Residents have been asked to store enough water in advance, use it carefully, and can seek help on the NMC-OCW helpline (1800 266 9899) or through the Nagpur Jal Grahak Sewa app.

Residents already troubled by irregular and inadequate supply are angry about yet another shutdown, Navarashtra reported.
