Mumbai: A key road in Goregaon West, close to the Veer Savarkar flyover, will stay closed for a month while pillars are built for "North Package B" of the Mumbai Coastal Road (North) project. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic, Western Suburbs) Ajit Borhade issued the notification on Friday.
Under the order, the slip road from Vasari Hill Junction to MTNL Junction on S.V. Road is closed to all vehicles until November 9, 2026. The restriction allows excavation and construction for 52 pillars along a stretch of about 1.5 km.
Motorists heading for MTNL Junction or S.V. Road should turn left at Vasari Hill Junction, drive past the D.G. Khetan International School and continue along Sunder Nagar road, the traffic police said. Traffic in the area is likely to be slow while the work goes on, and drivers have been asked to plan their journeys.
