Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Large numbers of devotees from the district and across Marathwada visit the goddess at Karnapura during Navratri. To control the crowds and keep devotees safe, the city police's Chhawani division has drawn up a security plan for the yatra, deploying 250 male and 75 female constables from police stations across the city along with a platoon of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF).

Deputy commissioner of police (Zone 2) Pankaj Atulkar will oversee the arrangements, with assistant commissioner Mazhar Sayyed in charge and assistant inspector Vivek Jadhav as co-in-charge. Officers and staff from many police stations, including City Chowk, Kranti Chowk, Begumpura, Chhawani, CIDCO, Waluj, Daulatabad, Jinsi, Mukundwadi, Pundliknagar, Osmanpura and Satara, will be on duty.

Police headquarters has provided another 35 male and 24 female constables. Staff from the control room and the crime branch have also been given duties, and one officer from each police station's detection squad will watch the crowds in plain clothes.

During Navratri, the road under the flyover between Bhagwan Mahavir Chowk and Panchavati Chowk will be closed to traffic in both directions, as will the route under the bridge from the railway station towards Panchavati Chowk. The roads from Lokhandi Pul to Panchavati Chowk and from Kokanwadi Chowk to Panchavati Chowk will also be closed both ways.
