Dhule: Navratri will be celebrated with devotion this year at the Shri Chamundamata temple on the banks of the Panzara river near Hatti Doh in Deopur. The Shri Chamundamata Charitable Trust has lit up the temple and completed preparations for the festival.

A sacred flame lit at the Shri Chamundamata temple in Chotila, Gujarat, will reach Dhule near Shivtirth after 8 am on Sunday, October 11. After a welcome there, a procession with music will carry the flame from the Subhash statue near old Dhule to the temple. Devotees, including members of the Badgujar community whose family deity is Chamundamata, will receive the flame.

The flame will be worshipped in the presence of MLA Anup Agrawal, former Union minister Dr Subhash Bhamre, former MLA Rajvardhan Kadambande and other dignitaries. The trust has planned nine days of religious and cultural events, organised by a Navratri committee headed by Lokesh Suryawanshi, with Vipin Badgujar leading the reception committee.
