Akola: CCTV footage has emerged of a disabled elderly passenger being saved at Akola railway station under the Railway Protection Force's 'Operation Jeevan Raksha'. As train number 12655, the Navjeevan Express, was pulling out of platform two, the passenger tried to board the moving train, lost his balance and began slipping into the gap between the platform and the train.

Woman assistant sub-inspector Sonal Ingle, on duty at the station, saw what was happening and ran to him without a moment's delay; with the help of other passengers she held him firmly and pulled him back onto the platform, averting a tragedy. The passenger suffered minor scratches.

The 63-year-old passenger, a resident of Gadchiroli, was travelling on a ticket from Akola to Chandrapur. Ingle is being praised as a 'Durga in police uniform' as Navratri begins.
